Latest Outings for Silver Day Trippers

As Lockdown 2 is ending on 2 December 2020 we have decided to resume our programme of outings. We appreciate that the weather may be inclement, but we think members might appreciate a change of scenery and a trip out. After all, it is a good chance to catch up with friends, do some shopping and have a trip out of London.

We are currently unable to visit Kent (Tier 3) which rules out Polhill Garden centre and some other garden centres we have contacted are restricting visits to 30 minutes.

Guildford and St. Albans are attractive places to visit and are new venues for us. Richmond and Richmond Park is a combined trip which will feature a drive around the park (and an opportunity to have a stroll, weather permitting), before spending a couple of hours in Richmond itself.

Should this initial programme prove popular we will publish a new one in January. It may seem unusual to visit the coast in the winter but we hope you will share our spirit of adventure and take the plunge!

The minibuses will operate with a maximum of 8 passengers on board and we will ask you to wear a face covering (unless you are medically exempt). The buses will be rigorously cleaned before the outing and the drivers will also clean the grab rails, handles and head rests during the trip.

We will pick up passengers between 9am and 10.05am from the regular stops. Our timetable and programme are published on our website

The trips will operate unless we are experiencing extreme weather conditions, such as snow or ice which would make the trip unviable.

Thursday 10 December Guildford £6
We will drop you off at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, near the large Debenhams Store. You will have 2/3 hours depending on the weather to do some shopping, have a stroll by the river or just explore this attractive market town.

Tuesday 15 December Richmond Park & Richmond £4
The plan is to drive around the park with an opportunity for a stroll (weather permitting). We will then visit Richmond town centre for a couple of hours for some shopping, refreshments or a walk by the Thames.

Thursday 17 December St. Albans £8
We are looking forward to making our first ever visit to this historic city. There are plenty of shops and cafes to visit and some nice walks around the city. If you wish to visit the cathedral you would be advised to check the website for the latest visitor information. You would need to make your own arrangements.

Wednesday 6 January Eastbourne £12
Wrap up warm and enjoy a bracing walk along the front and enjoy the sea views. If that does not appeal you can stay warm and visit the Beacon shopping centre with its fantastic range of stores.
